The Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2015 catwalk show took place in its usual venue – a tent set up Kensington Gardens – where bright book cover designs, oversized butterfly prints and hand-drawn honey bees were hand-painted on the runway and illustrated on the transparent roof.
Burberry is always one of the most anticipated shows at London Fashion Week. It’s always a very educational experience and this year it was all about the Birds and the Bees.
So what did we take away from the 44 runway looks this season?
Christopher Bailey has previously reinvented parkas, trench coats and biker jackets and this season he’s tackled the denim jacket to perfection. A perfect wardrobe staple for summer, there are various versions of the jacket – some lined with white sheepskin; some with white feathered peplums.
RUFFLED LAYERS OF TULLE
The layered tulle dresses come in a variety of colours including pink, lilac and yellow to name a few.
THE SHEER LOOK
Under the short indigo jackets are a variety of sheer dresses paired with flat colour block sandals or sneakers.
The print slogans on the trench coats and dresses included big and bold words like insects, flower and sun.
The SS15 range includes the Burberry Bee Bag, the Burberry Mini Bee Bag and book cover print pouches.
The Burberry Field Sneakers and the Burberry Field Sandals along with the denim jackets keep the forever-young theme.
The Burberry Butterfly Shades come in a variety of colours including blue, green, yellow and pink.
The Birds and The Bees makeup look features tawny eyes with nude hues and red lips.
Cara Delevingne arrived hand-in-hand with Kate Moss, her My Burberry campaign co-star. Instead of walking the runway, they both sat front row next to Mario Testino. Other attendee included Anna Wintour and Paloma Faith.
