I haven’t been able to drink instant hot chocolate for a very long time. I grew up drinking loads of it during winter and now my taste buds can’t handle it so you can imagine how thrilled I was to find this hot chocolate recipe at the back of the book The Loveliest Chocolate Shop in Paris by Jenny Colgan. I’ve already tried the choc chip cookie recipe (also from the book) that I’ve already shared with you all and so I knew this recipe would be just as great.
I’ve made a few amendments to the original recipe for just one cup of hot chocolate.
Here’s what you need:
100g double cream
60g excellent-quality dark chocolate
Gently heat the cream and milk together but do not allow the mixture to boil or get a skin. Heat it very gently and continue to stir until its hot enough.
Melt the dark chocolate (I used the microwave and set it to defrost mode).
Slowly add the chocolate to the milk.
Serve the hot chocolate with marshmallows and a pinch of cinnamon.
